Applying New Griptape

Applying griptape on your deck is pretty easy, you can do it by yourself or with the help of a friend if it’s your first time.
We do not recommend kids doing this by themselves since they will have to use a cutting edge. Grown up supervision advised.
You will need the following things:
1. Deck
2. Griptape
3. Cutter or Knife
4. Screw Driver
- 1. Peel the paper backing from the griptape. The grip will be sticky and the paper will be shiny

- 2. Put the griptape with the sticker face towards the deck on the tail, leave about 1.5 cm hanging off the edges applying small pressure to the tip to make it stay in place.

- 3. Start pressing the griptape going towards the nose. Make sure it is parallel with the edges or you will end up with the griptape not fitting the deck.

- 4. Apply pressure on all the board sticking the griptape well in place, and use your palms to get the air bubbles off.

- 5. With your screw driver, rub a nice contour of the deck on the griptape.

- 6. Use your sharp cutter to trim the griptape very well fit to the edges.

- 7. With your screw driver again, press the griptape cut edges to ensure it being sticked.

- 8. Poke the holes with your trucks mounting hardware.

That’s it. Fix your trucks and go skate.
