Weekly Cover #4

Well well! haha welcome to my fourth weekly cover!

Its been a great week for most skaters, alot has been going on and last monday was Go Skateboarding Day & thats the first thing I want to talk about.

Cairo, Egypts capital was 52 degrees on Monday and skaters were boiling, hundreds of empty Nestle, Aquafina & Dasani on the floor still skaters were dying for more & thats what I loved about GSD. The skate spirit was excellent, everyone was skating despite the weather. We arrived at 12 and the first spot we went was Nozha, I dont know about the others but I was really happy to go there, The 7 double sets were what made me happy that day. Half of the skaters were skating them and most landed sick tricks like Karim Alexanders expolsive 360 flip and Hardflip, Mahmoud Tareks (AKA OOZY) Nollie Heelflip and my Kickflip & Frontside kickflip. and what else?? oh Brandon Maddox’s boneless adn Ind grab thing, everyone was stocked on how he can just lift the board without an ollie over these sets. After skating there, we went to the Airport! First I would like to congratulate Oozy for winning the Highest Ollie contest & Game of SKATE, HE DID A GREAT JOB! Once we arrived we skate on Cherif Herrawi’s yellow rail and The Launch ramp, they were something different to skate on, alot of people were there and the day ended with smiles on skaters faces! Im sorry I posted no images/videos but there will be a full article covering GSD with images and maybe videos.

This week was also a good week, we went to Koleyet el handasa(Engineering College) and most of us filmed alot of new tricks, Mohamed Ibrahim landed a sick backside kickflip on the four, Khaled Ayman filmed alot of sick combos on like his noseslide to 50-50 to cab out! just wait for he upcoming movie of “The Tribes”

Ziad Ashraf, you know the punk rock skater with long hair! nailed a sick airwalk caveman on the hubba 7 set
Impressive right?

 Anyway, He also did some other sick stuff which you will see in the movie haha,

Brandon Maddox filmed 2 lines for the movie too, He ended the line with an killer Bonless bigspin, I dont know how he does it but he must have the best old school tricks in Egypt, He is truly impressive! The other line he ended it with an Indy grab thing! I must know that tricks name haha, anyway you will see alot of sick stuff from Alex soon!

For me,  I’ll share two things, we went to the hubba I told you about, and I ollied over it. At first, It was a pain in the ass, No speed and no space! I hesitated alot but at the end I said screw it and what happens happens! we will go there again and film! ok second thing was the unexpected trick I landed on the four in  Koleyet el handasa,

Switch Inward Heelflip was the trick and yes it was filmed, I never even landed a trick on a one set but it seems kind of easy to land on other sets, I’ll be trying the trick more on other obstacles haha.

Ok, remember my first weekly cover, when I talked about Ahmed Rashwan’s injury,
He bailed while trying the mini mega ramp and broke his left leg, he had a surgery and 

 has 9 nails in his leg right now, alot of skaters are breaking their legs nowadays hahaha

Anyway, we went to house today and by we I mean Amin, Aly Rashwan(AKA JEBO), Ahmed Mamdouh(MUSHU) & Mohamed Marhoum to check on him and he is doing good despite his injury, the only thing he is worrying about is wether he is going to skate again or not. It’s not his injury that could put a stop to his skating but it’s his worrying parents, he broke his leg 2 times already from skating and they dont want it to be a third time.

We all wish him a fast recovery and hopefull safe skating in the future.
